Dunchurch Band is traditional village Brass Band; our rehearsals are at the W I Hall Southam Road in Dunchurch on Tuesday evening from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm. We have a Training band (learners all ages) that rehearse on a Monday night from 7.30 pm to 8.30 pm and also run Beginners on a Monday evening (please contact us for more information if you would like to learn to play a brass instrument). Dunchurch Band is over a 100 years old. We enjoy performing concerts in Dunchurch Rugby and the local area. Many of our performances are to support local organisations and charities. The Dunchurch Band is a fourth section Band and although in our more recent history we have been a Concert Band and unregistered we have now returned to contesting at the National Brass Band Chamionships Regional Competition (the Area). We offer a warm welcome to players who would like to join the band. We also welcome those who have not played for many years but would like to get back to 'banding' and to those who are learning or would like to learn a brass instrument. We have instruments available to borrow free of charge from Beginner to Main Band level. The Band also has a percussion section with Drum Kit Timpani Drums Glockenspiel and other percussion parts. We are always keen to hear from Percussionists and Drum Kit Players who have performed with Brass Bands or would like to do so and are interested in joining the Main or Training Band. For more information if you are interested in joining the band or learning to play or if you would like to book the band for an event or engagement please contact Louise Balsom Tel: 01327361564 or 07548276993 or email dunchurch.band100@yahoo.com Throughout lockdown we where unable to rehearse or perform but are now back to weekly rehearsals and performing again.
The W I Hall does have a low step into the main entrance but there is a ramp that can be put in place very easily and quickly. There is a separate disabled toilet.
Instruments can be provided free of charge to Band members. The Band also provides music uniforms and music stands to its members free of charge.
