Give your child a proper skill this summer — and an RYA certificate to show for it. Our beginner courses follow the national RYA Youth Sailing Scheme, taught by enthusiastic, highly skilled instructors at the RYA Club of the Year 2024. Draycote Water Sailing Club is an RYA Recognised Training Centre and all instructors are qualified.
Choose the 3 Day Stage 1 course (£255, Monday to Wednesday) — an introduction to sailing, building real confidence afloat — or the 5 Day Stages 1 & 2 course (£325, Monday to Friday), after which most children can take a boat out on sheltered water in light winds on their own.
Courses start every Monday of the summer holidays: 20 July, 27 July, 3 August and 10 August 2026, running 9.30am–4pm daily. We provide the wetsuit, buoyancy aid, helmet, logbook and RYA certificate — you bring swimwear, footwear that can get wet, a towel, a hat, sun cream and a packed lunch. Children must be confident in deep water but don't need to be strong swimmers. No club membership needed, and after the course a 3 month temporary membership is available for boat hire and our weekly Youth & Junior groups.
