Warwickshire Geological Conservation Group (WGCG)

Conserve, enjoy and learn about the geology of Warwickshire.  Group activities include a winter lecture programme, summer field trips, conservation projects and the installation of displays.  WGCG is the Local Geological Sites (LoGS) organisation for Warwickshire.  Lectures are held monthly, on the third Wednesday, during the winter months at St Francis Church Hall, Warwick Road, Kenilworth, CV8 1HL. During the Covid 19 Pandemic we have been holding monthly talks using Zoom. For further information about the Group and the current programme  visit the website below.

The WGCG organises;  Monthly lectures - usually held in Kenilworth but currently online using Zoom, 

Social meetings - 1 or 2 per year  

Field excursions - from a couple of hours  1/2 day   full day and residential weekend to 1 week  

Training courses - aimed at A level standard  courses are usually held in Kenilworth.  

The group also is active in conserving geological sites around Warwickshire, promoting Earth sciences to students and the general public and maintains links with Universities  Researchers and other Educational institutions involved in Earth Sciences.
