For over 75 years Rugby Male Voice Choir has provided a major musical contribution to the cultural life of the local community.  As well as performing in and around Rugby, performance venues have included Coventry, Peterborough and Gloucester Cathedrals and Birmingham Symphony Hall.  The Choir sings a wide range of music from traditional, much loved male voice favourites to more contemporary items both sacred and secular.  It willingly responds to requests to appear at concerts in Rugby and the surrounding area. No charge is made by the Choir to perform although any donations to Choir funds are very welcome.

The choir welcomes new members and full support is given to those who have not sung in a choir before or cannot read music. There are no subscriptions for those under 18 and we can offer help with uniform and travel to concerts and rehearsals. The choir rehearses from 7.30pm to 9.15pm on a Monday evening at St George's church hall  Hillmorton.

Choir History.  On the 20th May1944 a small Rugby Home Guard contingent, conducted by Major Chaplain, sang eight items at a concert held in the Co-operative Hall, Rugby and the Home Guard Choir was born.  The fine voices of those early singers inspired certain gentlemen serving with the local Civil Defence detachment who asked to join the choir.  In 1945 the choir expanded by including these men and became known as "The Rugby Home Guard and Civil Defence Choir".  Since then the Choir has been further re-named Rugby Male Voice Choir.  The presidency of the choir is held by Mayor of Rugby which allows us to incorporate the Rugby borough armorial bearings in our choir badge.  Rugby Male Voice Choir is working hard to maintain the tradition of male voice choral singing in Rugby and the local area.
