The service offers support to carers when a short break is needed. Typically this could be to attend to personal matters appointments to recharge batteries and meet friends. It's recognised that many people do not think of themselves as "carers" especially partners, wives, husbands and family. However, a carer is generally considered to be someone who looks after a partner relative or friend who is ill or has a disability.
How we can help you: By providing a support worker to stay with the person you care for in their own home for an hour or so while you take a break.
Features of the service: Our support workers are trained, DBS checked and friendly. The same support worker will stay with the person you care for wherever possible. You may also be interested in our Home Support Service.
Who can use the service: Anyone provided that the person you care for is over 50 and lives in Coventry or Warwickshire.
Costs: Hourly rates apply. But if you wish we will help you check your benefits and entitlements.
