Volunteer Friends formerly Volunteer Centre - Nuneaton & Bedworth was founded in 1986 and is a charitale organisation promoting and developing volunteering locally for our services. We ensure that people who wish to volunteer with us are given volunteering opportunities to meet their interests and aspirations whilst acquiring additional skills knowledge and experience.
Some people wishing to volunteer want to build their confidence and self esteem. Volunteering can also give people a taste of the 'working environment' to either progress back into employment or help with a career change whatever people wish to do with their spare time volunteering has something for everyone. We have a number of services that requrie volunteer help including Medicar a social car scheme our Supported Shopping Service, which uses accessilbe mini buses for those who cannot use public transport run by volunteer drivers and shopping escorts.
Our buses can also be hired with our own MIDAS trained drivers to community groups in the local area. We aslo provide MIDAS training ( Minibus accreditation) for those looking to drive accessible mini buses.
