We have re-opened from 6 October 2020   thanks to the support of the Henley and Beaudesert Joint Parish Council  the Wootton Wawen Parish Council  Warwickshire County Council and its Library & Information Service and the Methodist Church.  Many volunteers have returned to service and visitors can enter the library  subject to precautions. are in place.  Our hours have been extended to 4 mornings per week  as follows.  Tuesday morning   9:30 to 11:30  Thursday morning 9:30 to 11:30  Friday morning     9:30 to 11:30  Saturday morning 9:30 to 12:30     We still use the passageway between the Methodist Church and the Seaspray Fisn n Chip shop. Visitors are asked to give the right of way to people leaving the Library.  Exception: wheelchair users.   Returned books should be deposited on the wooden display shelves in the entrance lobby before entering the Library  where they are quarantined for 24 hours before processing.  MASKS/FACE COVERINGS must be worn in the library  hand sanitizer used upon entry  and numbers of visitors inside the Library are limited to 3 adults or 1 family unit/bubble and another adult. If a visitor doesn't have a mask  we can provide one. If you are medically exempt  call our desk at  01564 794 885  for help. A volunteer can retrieve items from the shelves and assist borrowing/returning.  It may be easier for people who can't enter to collect and return books by appointment  or 'click and collect'  making arrangements either by telephone (above) or email to henley.community.library@gmail.com  We ask all visitors 16 years old and older to leave their name and contact telephone on arrival for NHS Track and Trace.  Visitors who have downloaded the Track and Trace app can scan our QR code instead.  Following county library guidelines  we suggest limiting visits to 30-45 minutes.  This 30 minute policy is called 'grab and go' on WLIS pages  but we obviously make exceptions for events.  Only one public event has been scheduled up to September 2021  but we want to resume family-friendly events and will liaise with our schools for this.  We use a one-way traffic pattern from the entrance  with a station for hand sanitizer and masks  before visiotrs proceed to the circulation desk and the exit.  There is 2-way traffic in the book stacks. Enter/exit route is marked by floor arrows.  Visitors are asked to maintain social distancing of 2 metres from staff and those outside their households.   One computer is available for public use. Sessions are limited to 45 minutes to allow for sanitization between users. Printing and photocopying are available too  but the printer is at the library counter and will be managed by the staff to reduce danger from hand contact.  We hope to upgrade our public access computer and staff computer to include meeting software and webcam hardware.  We continue to have access to the Customer Access Terminal for Stratford District Council  but patience is needed since the terminal has not been very active and may need to be re-booted. We suggest telephoning in advance.  Our program of school visits will resume when it is safe tor volunteers and children.    We are sorry that kitchen facilities and refreshments can't be offered to visitors  and access to restrooms is limited to staff except in case of emergencies.  Our volunteers are willing to help those who are housebound to have books from Henley delivered at home.  Van service between Henley and other libraries comes on Thursday mornings  and we can also get request books to those who are shielding or otherwise unable to visit.    The library book shelves are well stocked with a wide range of both fiction and non-fiction as well as plenty of books for children. We also continue to hold lots of information about local events and services.  We appreciate the expressions of appreciation from visitors we've received since re-opening and look forward to seeing you soon.
