Woodside Care Village is a care home with family-sized households for adults including people with mobility needs, dementia and hearing loss.
At Woodside Care Village there are 12 households each of which is designed and decorated in one of three lifestyles based on town, country and classical living. Each household, for between five and seven residents, has its own kitchen, dining area and living room, while all bedrooms have ensuite facilities. The home benefits from a range of technology that impacts positively on the health and wellbeing of residents including acoustic monitoring and circadian lighting. We also use electronic care planning which includes our relatives' gateway so relatives (with consent) can access their loved one's care record from anywhere with an internet connection.
The home has its own shop, launderette, cafe, cinema and hair salon. The gardens and plaza feature outdoor gym equipment, a side-by-side bike, pitch and putt golf and two water features. Meals are chosen at the shop and cooked on the household - and unlike most care homes which offer two or three meal choices each day, at Woodside residents can choose from over 70 meal combinations every day and help to prepare their food in their household kitchen.
The home's Community Musician visits several times a week, delivering one-to-one music sessions as well as group and whole home performances, making music a regular part of the home's day. There are also a range of clubs for residents to join, from baking and gardening to the weekly film club.
